The CB 400 F0 came in Light Ruby Red and in Varnish Blue. The petrol tank and side covers were the main colour. The tank bore the brand "Honda" and below it "Super Sport". The side lids read "400 Four". On this first version, the footrests for the pillion passenger were still on the rear swingarm, which was less comfortable as the feet and legs had to join the suspension movements that way.
