Founded in 1958 by Francisco “Paco” Bultó, Bultaco emerged as a trailblazer in the motorcycle industry, renowned for its innovative two-stroke off-road machines. Origins and Evolution

The inception of Bultaco traces back to May 1958, when Paco Bultó, formerly a director at Montesa, departed the company due to disagreements over racing involvement. Driven by a fervent belief in competition as a catalyst for innovation, Bultó established Bultaco with a clear focus on creating high-performance motorcycles. The company’s debut model, the Tralla 101, was introduced in 1959, setting the stage for a legacy of excellence. 

Iconic Models

Throughout its history, Bultaco has produced a range of models that have become legends in the motorcycling world:

• Sherpa T: Developed in collaboration with trials champion Sammy Miller, the Sherpa T revolutionized trials riding with its lightweight design and exceptional maneuverability. Introduced in the 1960s, it set new standards for trials motorcycles. 
• Pursang: A dominant force in motocross, the Pursang series was celebrated for its powerful engine and agile handling. Riders worldwide embraced the Pursang for its competitive edge on the track. 
• Matador: Designed for enduro and off-road enthusiasts, the Matador combined durability with performance, making it a favorite among riders seeking versatility across various terrains. 

Legacy and Revival

Despite ceasing production in the early 1980s, the Bultaco brand experienced a revival in 2014, introducing electric motorcycles that honor the company’s heritage while embracing modern technology. This resurgence reflects Bultaco’s enduring influence and commitment to innovation in the motorcycling community.
